30 year old Paul Konchesky is jetting out to Sweden today to join Sven and undergo a medical after Liverpool accepted a £1.5m offer from us.

The left back has been at Anfield for barely 12 months after being taken their by former manager Roy Hodgson, and it would be fair to say, he didn’t exactly settle.

He may not be the type of player fans were hoping Sven would be using his money on, but he’s experienced, tough and a very reliable player under normal circumstances and I’d think it would be impossible for anybody to say he wouldn’t improve our backline and give us additional strength.

A coy, but sensible move I think.

It’s also being reported that Wayne Routledge is expected to sign on the dotted line within the next 24 hours.
