Tsepo Masilela’s agent has hit out at Leicester after we decided to end our interest in his client.

Speaking to Sky Sports Paschalis Tountouris said.

‘The medical was ok and we were just waiting for Leicester to offer a contract, but when Liverpool saw that Tsepo was going to sign, they reduced their price by 70% for Konchesky. They way they operated is totally unacceptable, Tsepo had his heart set on a move to England.’

I’m not sure how he would know Liverpool’s exact asking price and after the season Konchesky had at Liverpool I’m not sure the maths on a deal at around £1.5m + 70% would’ve been a sensible asking price to begin with.

It’s more likely that as Masilela would’ve been a risk as he adapted to the league and the country that Konchesky was a safer bet and that’s what swung Sven’s hand, but if Tsepo is determined to get a chance in England I’m not sure his agent venting his thoughts about so called ‘unacceptable’ behaviour aimed either at us or Liverpool just because a move breaks down is th best way to end this story.
