Kasper Schmeichel, Marc Albrighton and Andrej Kramaric have given interviews talking about our ‘Greatest of Escapes’ this season in the Premiership.

Beginning with Schmeichel, he told lcfc.com that he felt it was thoroughly deserved given the efforts of the players across the whole season, because despite the knocks we took everybody just kept on going, kept believing and kept fighting and thankfully it worked out for us.

‘At one point I had a goal kick where I heard it (the Hull score), I don`t usually hear the crowd but somebody shouted it at me and obviously from there I knew that they (Tottenham) were 2-0 up. From there it was a question of being rock solid at the back and if we could get a goal then brilliant. If not, then we don`t concede.’

And whilst we couldn’t score, we kept another clean sheet.

‘We keep going, we keep fighting and we never stop. We`ve said that always that until something is mathematically impossible then we`ll keep believing and working as hard as we can every single day. We`ve been so fortunate to have fans that have backed us so much this season. We`ve been in some dark places and they`ve believed in us. We`ve kept going, tried to get them on their feet and get them with us and they`ve responded fantastically. They`ve been absolutely magnificent.’

Moving onto Albrighton, he admitted it was an emotional day as Leicester had all but been written off only a few weeks ago but now we are safe with a game to spare.

Having been asked if he knew what our secret had been since April, because nobody else did, he answered.

‘I`m pretty much in the same boat! We don`t know what the one thing is that has clicked into place, but whatever it is, we`ll take it all day long and we`ll enjoy this moment and I`m sure the fans will too. I feel on top of the world. We knew this was going to be a tough game. The fans were behind them (Sunderland), they started brightly and put us under pressure. We weathered that storm and came back into the game a bit. It was a game of few chances, but it doesn`t matter to us – we`ve secured our Premier League status and we look forward to next season.’

He ended with a quick message for the fans.

‘Go and enjoy the celebrations, enjoy your summer and we can`t wait to see you next season in the Premier League again.’

Finally, Kramaric, and he was quoted by Goal as saying he was obviously delighted to see us secure survival, but the 23 year old promised that there would be much more to come from him next season as he continues to adjust to life at the club and the league itself.

‘This is a great success. Just two months ago we were in a difficult situation, we were written off. But we started winning and deserved to stay in Premier league. I saw that we have potential, but in some games we were unlucky. Everything came together in the last two months, we played fantastic, we had luck, and the atmosphere in the team was fantastic.’

With eight starts and six substitute appearances, with a return of two goals, Kramaric admitted he had hoped for better but he knows there’s a period of adjustment and he’s confident he will be sharper and better in 2015-16.

‘I played less than I expected, I was mainly coming off the bench, but I’m happy. Everyone wants to be on the field, to play as much as possible, but the most important thing is that we stayed in the Premier League. This is another world. I need time to adapt, but I believe that I will be better next season.’
