James Hoping He Impressed

Matty James knows he can’t really complain about being out of the side given our current form, but he’s hoping he impressed against Palace.

Speaking to lcfc.com Matty said he hoped he’d done enough to figure in the Watford fixture.

‘Palace were playing three in midfield and I think the gaffer felt we were just getting a bit overrun. I had an opportunity on Saturday, although it is hard coming on, but hopefully if I get the nod against Watford I can try to impress and stake my claim. I can’t complain when the team has been playing so well.’

Despite the Palace result James says he knew our run would come to an end, and the test is to see how we respond to it.

‘This test was always going to come and it’s down to how we react now. As a group, the players, manager and coaching staff, we’re more than capable of bouncing back.’
