Leicester have won the battle to sign Everton striker James Vaughan on loan, according to The Mirror.
It is thought that Derby County were ready to re-sign the striker on loan after his spell with the club ended when Everton recalled the 21-year-old because of a slight cartilage tear.
But it now appears as though Nigel Pearson has emerged victorious, with Vaughan apparently ready to help Leicester secure an all-important play-off spot in the Championship this year.
Vaughan currently holds the record of being the Premier League’s youngest ever goalscorer, but has since struggled to make a large impact on David Moyes’ first team.
The news is sure to infuriate Derby boss Nigel Clough, who had hoped he could re-sign Vaughan after his return from injury.
