Leicester have failed in their bid to bring Hull City defender Kamil Zayatte to the Walkers Stadium – for now.

The Foxes were believed to have shown interest in the Guinea defender yesterday, but time constraints meant that the player remains at Hull City for now.

The Tigers were willing to part company with the 25-year-old signed from Young Boys last season, but Leicester ran out of time to complete a permanent transfer.

Whether or not Foxes boss Paulo Sousa returns with a short-term deal in mind when the loan window opens in one week’s time remains to be seen.

The fitness of Portuguese centre back Miguel Vitor could play a significant part in Sousa’s decision, with the possibility of a permanent switch also on the cards when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Zayatte has so far made 59 league appearances in Hull City shirt, most of those coming in the Premier League, scoring three times.
