Leicester have issued a statement surrounding speculation regarding centre back Wayne Brown.

The club told its official site earlier: “Wayne Brown remains a Leicester City player and any alleged incidents will be investigated and dealt with internally.”

Brown has found himself caught up in a whirlwind of controversy after allegedly admitting his political stance as BNP to shocked team mates.

His revelations reportedly riled several black members of the first team squad, most specifically Lloyd Dyer and Chris Powell who were particularly adverse to the views of the 32-year-old.

The turn of events was enough for manager Nigel Pearson to drop Brown from his squad for Leicester’s crucial play-off semi-final ties with Cardiff, in which the Foxes were knocked out on penalties by their Welsh rivals.

It has been reported that Brown has been told to issue an apology to his team-mates, but whether he is allowed the chance to do so remains to be seen as his future with the club remains up in the air.
