After returning to pre season training Chris Wood has said he can’t wait to get going on his first full season at Leicester.

Speaking to lcfc.com the striker passed all the assessments, and like others, admitted he had done plenty of work over the summer to keep himself in shape.

‘We’ve all had our programmes to stick to over the summer and it showed with the lads coming in today in good form. Nobody likes the running work and if anybody tells you that they do then they’re lying. But you just get on with them.’

Wood talks about the technological advances that now figure in pre season training as players are very closely monitored through a variety of gadgets and gizmos to ensure they are woring as they should.

‘Even on the training pitch you can’t hide behind other players or anything like that because you’ve got the GPS on and they are making sure that you’re working up to the right standards.’
