Leicester City midfielder James Wesolowski has joined Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder has signed a two year deal with the League One side, who were relegated from the Championship this year after struggling to find their feet following their promotion alongside the Foxes.

Wesolowski spent time on loan with Scottish side Hamilton Academical earlier in the season, where he impressed suitably to attract the attentions of Gary Johnson at Peterborough.

The midfielder said: ‘I had a pretty good season with Hamilton.

‘Now I have been given the opportunity to come to Peterborough and I am looking forward to helping the club achieve promotion.’

The 22-year-old broke through Leicester’s youth ranks to make his first team debut back in 2007, but a series of serious injuries seriously stunted his progression at the Walkers Stadium.

The young Australian was farmed out on loan to Dundee United and Cheltenham Town, but injuries were once again to prove a thorn for the tenacious midfielder.

However, a successful period in Scotland last year saw Wesolowski stay fit, and Johnson has decided to take a gamble to bring the player to the club.
