Richie Wellens has said the team drew inspiration from the fantastic backing of the fans against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Speaking to lcfc.com Wellens clearly likened the stadium to Pearson’s previous time in charge where our home ground became a vociferous fortress for the players.

‘The crowd were good against Palace and, because of that, Gally’s so confident he can take that second shot on and it goes in the top corner. When you’re playing with confidence, it’s a much easier game.’

Wellens certainly doesn’t want to see that level of support dip as he adds.

‘We had it a couple of years ago when we didn’t really lose at home. If we can get that back, it will be a lot easier for everybody. The players have got to generate the atmosphere, but if we’re having a difficult time we need the fans to help as well.’
