Our opening day derby clash away at Coventry City is now likely to be the opening match of the Championship as the kick off has been brought forward.

TV schedules are yet to be confirmed, so it’s most likely a Police decision unless we have been picked for screening, but the game will now kick off at the Ricoh Arena at 12.30pm on August 6.

As soon as the fixtures came out, I said to my bro that this would probably be moved and could well end up on Sky. The M69 derby does tend to get shifted about for policing and it’s a local rivalry, not to mention that Leicester are currently 2nd favourites for the title in most bookies’ odds, so that could well set things up for the game to be broadcast.

Does seem a plum pick for it, Leics favourites, money to spend, and local derby to boot. Wouldn’t be surprised to see to see it announced to be honest.
