Leicester City have today confirmed that striker Martyn Waghorn has now brought his five year association with the club to an end and turned his loan spell at Wigan Athletic into a permanent deal.

The 24 year old joined them back on a standard loan in January, and therefore a permanent switch can be made outside of the transfer window.

Since moving to them, he has played in nine games and scored three times for them.

In his time with us he has made 116 appearances for the club and scored 20 times.

He hasn’t really figured in Nigel Pearson’s plans for a while, hence his time out on loan, so this is no great surprise but hopefully he’ll do well for his new club.
