Assistant Manager Craig Shakespeare has revealed how a tactical tweak in the second half turned the Burnley game around for us.

Speaking to lcfc.com following the game, Shakespeare explained.

‘At the start Burnley’s shape was difficult to break down. We tinkered with it a little bit at half time, brought Anthony in off one of the wide positions and played him in behind the striker, which we felt was pivotal in us getting back into the game. I’m delighted for the boys in terms of the spirit and courage they showed.’

It was almost double delight as both strikers found the net, with Nugent grabbing his 100th career goal.

‘Front players live off goals, David has been on 99 goals for a while so we’re pleased for him because his endeavour and work rate are outstanding.’
