Most of the transfer links today centre around strikers.

Sections of the press today are suggesting that following the loan of Fulham’s Diomansy Kamara to Leicester last season, that the club are looking to offer the 30 year old a contract for next season.

There are no quotes, suggestions of what the contract may be nor any official confirmation at this stage.

In other sections of the press they are reporting (thankfully) that we’ve missed out on Marlon King and with supposed negotiations with Yakubu stalled over personal terms, we are turning our attention to David Nugent.

The 26 year old former England and Everton striker is now out of contract at Portsmouth, after the club admitted defeat in getting him to agree a new contract.

There are also still rumbles that Emile Heskey will be returning home.

Nugent on a free would be a good bit of business but not the total answer up front.

  • Curtly says:

I would welcome Yakubu and Nugent – and even more the return of Emile!
But is there any truth in the rumours that Sol Campbell is on the radar? I’m not convinced that he’s still got the appetite for it.
And yes, I’m delighted that we “missed out” on Marlon King. I don’t want a thug like him here.

If we grab Nugent on a free Portsmouth will be suicidal given what they paid for him lol Not heard any bubblings about Campbell thankfully, but completely concur on your thoughts about Marlon King.
