Sven-Goran Eriksson has said that it’s difficult to compete for players who have offers on the table from the Premiership.

Speaking to Sky Sports the gaffer said.

‘I saw in the papers that Robbie Keane is going to play with Beckham, if that’s right, it’s difficult to compete. Shane Long is an example because he had the chance to go to a good Premier League club. It’s not about money.’

Keane has been linked on and off, but then again who hasn’t this summer really.

I’m sure Sven has a few other irons in the fire.
