Ipswich and a mystery Serie A club are interested in taking him off our hands apparently.

Ipswich manager Paul Jewell has told the Leicester Mercury that Nigel Pearson is open to a deal on the Irish centre half.

‘I’ve spoken to Leicester about Sean St. Ledger’s availability, he is someone we are interested in. There are a few clubs in for him, one from Serie A so whether we can get Sean to come here remains to be seen. Leicester have said they are prepared to do something.’

Pearson however wouldn’t be drawn on the speculation, and commented that nobody should read too much into his team selection tomorrow.

‘I am not ruling anything out for Saturday, I will name the team tomorrow but I won’t speculate.’

You’d assume if St. Ledger did leave it would be on a loan deal, but with Pantsil and Bamba presumably both out of contention until February, would we let someone like St. Ledger out?
