Leicester City’s first team flew out to Austria on Sunday and manager Craig Shakespeare is looking forward to making the most of our six day mini training camp.
Kicking off our time out there, the players went on a short bike ride around Velden and speaking to lcfc.com after familiarising themselves with the hotel and its surroundings, Shakespeare was hugely positive about the week ahead.
‘It`s a lovely setting and we`re by a lake this year. I`ve been out to see the training pitches and they`re of good quality. We`ll play in-house 11-on-11 games and do a lot of tactical drills, but it provides them with the opportunity to be away from the training ground together.’

Having spent the last week at Belvoir Drive undergoing pre season testing and checks as well as several training sessions, Shakespeare has plenty of hard work planned as we build up to the season over the next few weeks but he knows the spirit and the professionalism of the players will see them through.
‘They`ve had a good few weeks off and they`ve been away from each other, so they`ll need that team spirit aligned with a good work ethic. It`s quite hot there when we go at that time of year, so it`s intense, but that togetherness that I`m big on will be in abundance. It gives the new players an opportunity to settle in.’
