It’s again being reported that Leicester City are chasing Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho this summer.

The Telegraph were reporting that Craig Shakespeare was planning a £25million move for the 20 year old striker as Manchester City are willing to let him go this summer as Pep Guardiola wheels and deals looking for improvements, and they say that Leicester will be battling along with Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham for the Nigerian international.

However they also say that City would want a buy back clause on any deal to cover themselves for the future given how it’s expected he will develop.

They speculate that with a valuation of around £25million, City would allow Leicester a £10million profit on that, setting the buy back clause at £35million.

With the buy back being a new element to the speculation though, it does seem to strengthen the belief that something will happen with him, and despite this undoubtedly complicating any potential deal, Leicester do seem to be in pole position still.

Whether you believe Iheanacho is worth £25million is another question but his game to goal return is incredibly good.

20 starting appearances and 44 substitute showings have returned 21 goals so far and he does of course carry European experience. Eight of those goals came in a total of 30 appearances last season.
