Leicester City Reserves’ game tonight posed another question for the statisticians – how long is it, if ever, since anyone in a City shirt scored five times in five successive outings?.

That’s what right winger Max Gradel achieved when he came on six minutes from time and gave City a 2-2 equaliser against Norwich City Reserves with his first piece of the action at Hinckley United’s ground tonight.

Gradel must thought his chances of continuing his sequence were limited when he was named as a substitute to allow various first teamers to get some match practise.

But with City losing 2-1 five minutes from time he took a pass on the right side of the penalty area, saw his initial shot parried but latched onto the rebound and slid the ball coolly home from an angle.

Of Gradel’s goals four counted and another was scored in an abandoned game against Ipswich which has still to be replayed.

Chris O’Grady scored Leicester’s other goal from the penalty spot minutes before the equaliser.

Full match report to come later.
