If Leicester City fans remained predominently aghast at the notion of Ian Holloway becoming manager, the QPRnet.com website posters saluted their hero today following his suspension by the club on ‘Gardening Leave’.

Said Coastalhoop:

It was Ian Holloway who picked up the baton when you couldn’t give the job away. Pride, passion and spirit, he gave them all back to us after they had been stripped from this great club by other so-called managers and chairmen.

For this Queens Park Rangers will be forever in your debt Olly, thank you. You are one of the most succesfull managers we have ever had and QPR’s loss is truly another clubs gain.

Most of what’s happened at Loftus Road this season has been beyond your control, (injuries etc….) and we should not forget what you have achieved at this club.

Good luck whatever the future holds.

YorkUniTom added;

I think it’ll be in years to come that we’ll realise how important a role Olly has played in the history of Queens Park Rangers. He saved us from the edge. He turned the club around. I think it’s shoddy that he’s now being pushed over the edge by GP, etc.

Thank you Ian for all you’ve done for the club. You will forever be a Rangers’ legend.

Dave Thomas’ socks continued:

In a world of agents, overpaid ‘players for hire’, spin (dishonesty) and image management (often dishonesty), I was proud to support a genuinely committed, passionate and straight-talking manager.

IH you are a decent man and I know that you love the blue and white hoops. I hope that recent criticism and ‘trouble at the top’ will not tarnish that.

As a player and a manager you gave everything and with plenty of success. Thank you for giving me one of the best days of my life (Hillsborough) and for beginning the revival of a club that was so lost and detatched from its history.

I wish you all the best in whatever you do. You’re a legend mate.

From Hollywood Hoop there was:

You’re a complete nutter. You’re Rangers through and through. You hoofed the ball, passed the ball, and provided us with some clinical finishing too. Up and down the nationwide – we followed and chanted your squads through. There’s only one Ian Holloway, one Ian Holloway – your legend in the loft will always shine true.

Thank You for the memories.

Stevenage Hoop said:

Ian – no one person is bigger than the club – but if you do go – history will remember you as one of our giants.

Finally Essex Ranger 19 declared:

Thank you Ian Holloway for bringing back the good times to QPR, for being an inspiring manager and bringing success back to this great club.. you truly are a legend

Thanks for the memories ‘now lets have a coffee’
