Leicester City manager Claude Puel has given an injury update ahead of the FA Cup replay against Fleetwood Town.

Meeting with the media on Monday for his usual pre game press conference, Puel told lcfc.com that both Danny Simpson and Wes Morgan were now nearing a return from the injuries that have sidelined them.

Matty James is also available for selection and Robert Huth is touch and go, but again he’s near a return.

New signing Fousseni Diabate is ineligible for the game having missed the original tie at Highbury Stadium.

With Simpson suffering a hamstring injury in the draw against Manchester United and Morgan suffering similar in the victory over Huddersfield, neither are in contention for Fleetwood but both are making progress.

‘For Danny, he came back for the warm-up in training this morning. He will train this week from Wednesday or Thursday. This is good news of course.’

As for Morgan, he added.

‘He is working hard in the gym. We don`t know for the moment when he will return but it is progress for Wes. Time will tell.’

With 26 year old Matty James sustaining a knock in the draw against Chelsea, Puel confirmed that wasn’t ‘serious’ and he was available for selection.

Huth also got 90 minutes under his belt as he nears a return in the Under 23 match last Friday, so he’ll be assessed late on.

‘We will see. He played, for example, against West Ham for the Under-23s last week. We will see if he is in a good match fitness or not.’

Jamie Vardy also returns to the squad to face his former club in the replay.

‘I cannot give you the starting players, of course. I can say he will be in the squad.’
