Leicester City manager Claude Puel has given an injury update ahead of our clash with Stoke City this weekend.

With 34 year old club skipper Wes Morgan returned from his hamstring injury in last Friday’s one nil victory over Sheffield United in the FA Cup fifth round tie, Puel confirmed that he’d come through that game without complication and remained in contention for Saturday’s clash at the King Power Stadium and there was also good news for Japanese international Shinji Okazaki who is set to return to training early next week following his own knee injury issue of late.

Speaking to lcfc.com as he met with the media on Thursday, the Frenchman explained about the options available to him.

‘Morgan is available to play this game but after we will see. We have a lot of games to come. It is good to see our captain again at a good level. I was happy with Aleksandar Dragovic and Yohan Benalouane for example.’

Puel went on to say.

‘We have a squad with good competition between players. All this competition pushes the players to bid for their place and it is a good thing. It is important and, when available, he is a valuable player for us. But I am happy for all the players in the squad because we have good competition – in defence, midfield and attack.’

As for Okazaki, he added.

‘Shinji comes back next week in normal training. Everybody else is fine.’
