With the paperwork sneaking through for Tom Lawrence, Leicester have also confirmed that the loan move for Nick Powell went through ahead of the deadline last night.

This was the other deal we were waiting for confirmation on following numerous reports of his arrival at Belvoir Drive, and Lawrence’s fellow Manchester United youngster has moved to us for the remainder of the season.

The 20 year old is still awaiting clearance, but like Lawrence there are no problems expected there and he could also be in line for his debut when we face Stoke on September 13.

Powell comes to us following a very successful loan spell with Wigan Athletic last term, where he made 41 appearances, playing in a number of positions, scoring 12 goals.

He moved to United back in the summer of 2012 after he more than caught the eye at Crewe Alexandra with his performances and he left them having made 84 appearances, scoring 16 goals by the tender age of 18.

Having moved to United, he made his debut at Old Trafford against Wigan in September 2012 and scored, going on to feature in the league, the Champions League and the Capital One Cup in his first season.

Clearly a talent and one who’ll find his feet with us and continue his development and then maybe prefer blue to red next summer.
