Nigel Pearson believes that we deserved more from the Brighton game, but chose his words carefully after another inept refereeing performance.

Speaking to lcfc.com after the game, Pearson clearly didn’t value the input from the officials, especially when it came to Beckford’s sending off.

‘I think the best thing I can do now is to keep my mouth shut. We know what has happened, but the onus is on them to submit what they think happened and we’ll take it from there. We’ve heard (what the red was for), but I’ll wait to see whether the report confirms that. I think that’s as diplomatically as I can put it.’

Not a happy bunny with officials lately is our manager, but for the game itself he added.

‘I think the players deserved more if I’m honest and we still created chances after we went behind. I’m proud of the players and how they applied themselves. I’ve said that if we continue to apply ourselves as positively then we will make progress, but it’s a bitter pill for them to have to take today.’
