Nigel Pearson has said he won’t be held to ransom in the January transfer window if he decides to strengthen the squad further.

Speaking to Sky Sports the manager said he and the club would remain sensible during the window and he isn’t prepared to pay over the odds for players just because he has money to spend.

‘We are going to try to get players who are better than what we have got. The January window is a difficult window to operate in. The business we do we will try to do as sensibly as possible. We are not going to be held to ransom.’

With us already being linked with a £3m move for Doncaster’s Billy Sharp it’ll be interesting to see how many players we are linked to this time round.
