Nigel Pearson was not a happy man last night as we again cost ourselves at least a share of the spoils by failing to take our chances.

Speaking to lcfc.com following the 2-1 loss, Pearson admitted he was frustrated to see us waste so many opportunities in the game.

‘We should have won, which sounds a bit strange to say when we went 2-0 down. In the first half, we didn’t react to turnovers quickly enough and conceded two poor goals, but throughout the whole game we created a number of opportunities. We just didn’t deal with two situations well enough. In the second half, we bossed it and we created enough to win a number of games. I’m not particularly happy at the moment, but I was pleased with the response.’

For some it will invoke memories of last season and our inability to find some consistency in the league campaign, but it’s still early doors and the new players are still settling in, so I don’t think anybody should panic just yet. If we keep creating the chances eventually they will go in and the confidence will start flowing…hopefully.
