Manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed the speculation linking us with Argentinian midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, but he’s not happy with the ‘clown’ who leaked it.

The 33 year old player left Inter Milan in the summer and in the last week it was heavily speculated that we were in talks to bring him to the Premier League and apparently that’s true – or at least was.

Speaking to the BBC our manager said when asked the question.

‘I am not going to say no, because we have been interested. But what’s disappointing is that some clown somewhere down the line has leaked information that is sensitive. We like to try to do business in the right way and make sure all parties interests are looking after for the right reason. But for some reason, some balloon head has decided to leak it. We try to protect every party that is involved in doing deals because there will always be deals that cannot be done.’

Pearson refused to comment further on whether it was likely a deal could be now struck or even if talks were continuing, so we’ll have to wait see what happens on this now.
