At an EGM at the King Power Stadium today the Football League decided to reduce the number of substitutes back to five.

The ruling doesn’t apply to FA Cup and League Cup games and was taken as a result of the new fair play rules limiting the size of squads.

Makes perfect sense really given the financial constraints most clubs outside of the Premiership operate under.
