New managers do battle

Leicester City travel to Burnley tonight to take on a team who, like themselves have recently changed their manager.

When these two sides last met prior to the international break, both had caretaker managers in place following the departures of Megson and Cotterill.

City’s poor 1-0 defeat at home signaled the end of Frank Burrow’s reign of City caretaker and Ian Holloway completed his move from Plymouth, gaining a win, draw and a loss in his first 3 games.

Owen Coyle is the new man in charge at Burnley and the former St Johnstone boss has made a strong start in his new role with notable victories over both Watford and Charlton, both away matches.

Although the squads remain largely unchanged since the earlier match, both teams will be hoping their new management staff will be able to make the difference.

While Burnley go into the game with 7 points from their last 3, Leicester enter with just 4 after a lack of a killer blow meant that only one point was gained from matches against Cardiff and Southampton.

Leicester will be hoping to do better in the final third tonight, however with key personnel missing in attack it may prove to be a difficult evening for The Foxes.

Vital Quotes:

New City assistant manager, Tim Breaker feels that the game is too soon after Southampton for any players to make their return.

We have got a few players who need patching up following our game against Southampton on Saturday, but we should be able to travel to Burnley with a similar squad.

‘Having so many players missing is obviously not ideal, but we just have to get on with it.’

Burnley Team News:

Steve Caldwell is the only injury and manager Coyle should be able to pick from a squad that has won the last 2 games.

Player to watch: Andy Gray

Scored the winner at The Walkers and also contributed in both recent wins against Watford and Charlton, scoring three goal.

The in form striker will have to be stopped in City are to come out of the game with anything.

Leicester City Team News:

Campbell, John, Hammond and Fryatt all miss the game, the first 3 are injured and Fryatt is serving the second of a three match ban.

Weslowski and James Chambers are missing in midfield for City

Player to watch: City Youngsters

With so many first team players out injured, especially in attack, there is a chance for some of the City youngsters to get some first team experience.

Ashley Chambers and Sappleton have both featured in the absence of our first team strikers, and Andy King can also be expected to start in the middle of the City midfield.

Match Facts & Stats

Burnley won the last match these two sides contested, a 1-0 victory at The Walkers.

Match Prediction:

Leicester will find this match tough, as a mixture of injuries plus an in form Burnley make for difficult conditions.

I feel a draw would be a good result in such circumstances and would love to see one of Chambers or Sappleton on the scoresheet.
