Nigel Pearson has played down the significance of the festive fixtures, and said we’ll approach each game the same.

Speaking to lcfc.com Pearson said.

‘I view all the games the same to be honest, but I do understand people have a different slant on how they view this period. It’s always an important part of the season, no doubt, because you get to somewhere around the halfway mark. Over the Christmas and New Year period people start to have a better idea of how things are going to pan out. Historically, the January and February months are critical times as to whether you can push on or not and clearly the Christmas period builds up to that.’

As for the Millwall game specifically, he added.

‘They always make the most of playing at home and have the mentality that their place is a difficult place to go to. It’s something we need to be aware of, as always, it’s our own performance that is the most important factor in how we go about playing Millwall on Saturday.’
