With Nampalys Mendy long being linked with a potential move to Leicester City this summer, it’s now being reported that we have had a £10million bid for the Frenchman accepted by Nice.

The Leicester Mercury report that with our long standing interest in the 23 year old, they understand that a £10million offer has now been accepted for him, and in short it means we are in pole position with a number of other clubs interested in his services but they haven’t yet agreed fees themselves.

West Ham United are one such club referenced.

With the original reports suggesting that manager Claudio Ranieri had identified Mendy as a potential replacement for N’Golo Kante with ongoing speculation about his own future this summer, the Mercury say that our interest in the player is outside of any possible Kante departure and he’s simply somebody Ranieri sees as adding value and options to our midfield for the battles ahead.

Of course Ranieri knows Mendy as the two were together at Monaco, and they say that he will arrive in the UK tomorrow to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms.

As per the Juventus Mario Lemina links, this report also says that Ranieri would be happy to add both to our ranks – it’s not an either or situation.
