Mattock not distracted by transfer talk

Leicester youngster Joe Mattock, one of the most highly rated defenders in the lower leagues, knows about the speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League but he isn’t taking much notice of it.

West Ham have already failed with a bid to lure him away, in January, and are believed to be preparing another of around £2m with Aston Villa also mentioned. However Mattock, 18, says that he isn’t listening to the rumours and speculation and is simply focused on the coming League One season with City.

The defender will one day play at the very highest level, but as he has plenty of time ahead of him his development would best be served in staying at the Walkers Stadium in my sincere and honest opinion. It might come down to money in the end though, with City getting an offer that couldn’t be refused perhaps?

Let’s hope so, it would be best for him to stay, and I’m not just saying that as I want it I really do think it’ll be best for now.
