Match Stats: Crystal Palace v Leicester City

Crystal Palace effectively secured their Premier League survival with a dominant showing over Leicester City earlier today.

Heading to Selhurst Park for the tie, Claude Puel’s standing amongst the fanbase will not have been helped by this heavy defeat as he continued to tinker with the starting line-up. Fans of Aleksandar Dragovic will again be incensed that he failed to start the game as the match was largely over by the halftime break.

Marc Albrighton’s straight red card ten minutes into the second period certainly didn’t aid our cause and with his departure, our defence fell apart and Palace added another three goals to their tally inside of the final ten minutes of the game.

Having already blown a potential European adventure next season, our campaign is petering out as we have only picked up four wins in the last 18 games.

The performance is probably ably summed up by the fact that Jamie Vardy only managed nine touches across the 90 minutes. With press speculation mounting that Puel’s time at the club will be up this summer as we undergo an overhaul – this result is only going to breathe new life into those stories.
