With Lee Clark ruling himself out of the job, but Martin O’Neill saying he wouldn’t comment on the job ‘on or off the record’ fans are no closer to guessing who the new man will be.

Speaking to the press, Clark said.

‘I want to reiterate that I am 100% committed to the owner, the fans and the players at Huddersfield and I am totally focused on getting this club promoted. I want to put an end to this speculation, I am not interested in the Leicester vacancy.’

Nigel Pearson was even more pointed with his comments when asked again about the job.

‘I’ve got no control over what happens anywhere else and I’m not interested in talking about anything outside of us. I just find it a bit irritating if I’m honest, you know what I’m like. So I suggest we close it there.’

Martin O’Neill, despite presumably not being interested, also told the BBC that he didn’t want to talk about the Leicester job either ‘on or off the record’ which is more curious as the Bangkok Post say the owner has said that both O’Neill and Ole Gunnar Solksjaer are still in the frame.
