Long delay again for City

There are only 9 days left of the transfer window and Leicester City fans are still waiting for Rob Kelly to make a move in the market.

Milan Mandaric was expected to have taken over by now and supplied City with enough cash to get 3 or 4 players during the transfer window. However, due to delays and complications the takeover is still to be completed, meaning Kelly and the fans are left wondering what is happening?

Most City fans will realise that when it comes to doing something easy Leicester City never decide to take that option. Whether it be the players or the board, if there is a way of messing things up or dragging things out then City will take that option.

An example of this was when City were looking for a manager to replace Craig Levein. The board decided to approach seemingly every manager in the Championship, causing chairmen across the country to lambaste City`s approach and in Ian Holloway`s case result in him being put on gardening leave.

At First it was Steve Cotterill who was “guaranteed” to be joining the foxes before he signed a new deal with Burnley and then it was Mike Newell who was “99% certain” to become the new manager, before he committed himself to Luton. Eventually the board decided to stick with Rob Kelly who had quietly gone about pulling City away from the relegation zone.

Unfortunately this time Kelly can do nothing, without any cash he is helpless in the transfer market and although he has trimmed the squad by releasing Low, Sylla and O`Grady. He still has to wait for the Mandaric deal to go through before adding to the squad.

Several times Mandaric has supposedly been days away from completing the deal, but every time something seems to delay the deal for a couple more weeks. Now these problems might have nothing to do with the board and they could be as frustrated about it as the majority of City fans. However, it just typifies Leicester City in general. Whenever there is a possibility of things going right for once they inevitably go wrong.

Lets hope that the Mandaric deal does eventually go through and City can look forward to a few new faces on the pitch and a new approach to club matters, off the pitch.
