It’s being reported that Leicester City have joined Swansea City in the race for Liverpool’s Joe Allen.

Allen of course was at Swansea prior to his Liverpool move, and with one year left on his deal at Anfield, speculation has grown that Jurgen Klopp is open to seeing the 26 year old move on this summer as he looks to further reshape their team.

The Sun suggest that whilst Swansea are probably favourites owing to his previous time with them, that Claudio Ranieri is interested in bringing the play maker in as further competition given our Champions League campaign this year.

It’s said Swansea have already had an £8million offer rejected, and they also reference N’Golo Kante as being a potential departure, so there would be a space to fill, but the obvious question is would Allen’s style of play suit what works so well for Leicester?

It’s seems the reports confuse themselves as the Sun go on to link Southampton with an interest also – citing that both Southampton and Leicester are set to lose their ‘midfield sweepers’ and Allen is no sweeper to me.
