Glasgow Rangers have confirmed that they have rejected a £6.5m offer for their striker, Nikica Jelavic.

A statement on their official site reads.

‘Rangers football club can confirm that they have today rejected a £6.5m bid for striker Nikica Jelavic from English Championship side Leicester City.’

A bit left field given all the rumours, and the fee is on a par with what we offered in total for Maynard, and if rumours are to be believed about the offer for Johnson there could be wiggle room for a much improved offer if Sven is determined he wants Jelavic.

  • Can’t help but think we are aiming too high. Clearly none of our targets have any desire to come to Leicester and we are looking increasingly desperate. We will continue to be rejected by these big name forwards and following Nugents injury we will be left with a very weak strike force indeed. No where near good enough for an automatic promotion spot.
