Leicester Suffer Double Blow Ahead Of Palace

|

Leicester City will be without two key men as we go in search of all three points against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Heading to Selhurst Park on Saturday for our latest Premier League tie, both Kasper Schmeichel and Shinji Okazaki are set to miss out once more with their respective ankle complaints.

Both players suffered their problems in the 2-1 defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor a fortnight ago and they obviously missed out on our last tie – the largely bore draw 90 minutes against Southampton.

There is better news for Daniel Amartey though. As he continues his recovery from his hamstring problem, he has been pencilled in for an Under 23 return on Friday evening as we host Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League Cup.

Speaking to lcfc.com as he met with the media to preview the game, the Frenchman said of our current injury worries.

“Kasper is still injured like Okazaki, they are both not available. Some players like Amartey will come back with the Under-23s and we will see if he can come back into training.”

It likely means the line-up for Palace will be similar to our last one and you’d expect Ben Hamer to continue between the sticks. Puel did praise his showing and with it being a good opportunity for Hamer to show what he can do, the gaffer felt he seized that opportunity nicely.
