Leicester Fans Want This Man Signed Up

|

With Aleksandar Dragovic returning to Claude Puel’s line up for Leicester City’s clash with Southampton, fans have a very simple message for the club when it comes to the on-loan Bayer Leverkusen centre-half.

With ten starting appearances to his name for the club following his arrival at the end of August, Dragovic has quickly established himself with the fanbase following his performances. So much so in fact that when the 27-year-old found himself out of the team once more, it caused a fair bit of consternation amongst the supporters given how steady and solid a partnership he was striking up with Harry Maguire.

With his loan deal expiring at the end of the season, fans are adamant we should be looking to partner him with Maguire in the season’s to come given the ageing status of both Wes Morgan and Robert Huth.

Having taken his chance to impress when called upon in the second half of the season, a permanent deal certainly makes sense from where I sit.

Morgan and Huth have been reliable servants during their time with us, but with injuries hitting so harshly this season we do need to freshen things up and with the understanding Dragovic and Maguire have quickly built up, we should be looking for them to build on that for next season rather than trying to bed in a new man.

Defence seems to largely take care of itself in reality, so if Puel is adamant on our change of style he needs to focus elsewhere on the pitch to bolster the group with those players who are more naturally suited to what he wants from the first team going forward.

The solution to the backline for 2017/18 is there, so we shouldn’t be looking to complicate things.
