Leicester open the curtains for a competitive match for the first time in the third tier of English football this Saturday.

City will host MK Dons; this will be the first time they will meet since MK Dons were known as Wimbledon.

This will be the first competitive league match for new MK Dons manager Roberto Di Matteo, a former Italy international and Chelsea legend.

Vital Quotes:

This pre-season there has been a different type of air around the Walkers, for a change there is an air of optimism. Following a promising pre-season the season is looking bright.

Leicester City Team News:

On the injury front, the only known absentee is Patrick Kisnorbo (knee) who will be out for a couple more months to come. Aleksander Tunchev and Matty Fryatt both picked up knocks against Crystal Palace but are both expected to play. New signing Paul Dickov is also available for Saturday.

Player to watch: Max Gradel

Gradel set League 1 alight last season whilst on loan at a relegated Bournemouth receiving wonderful reviews. Has enjoyed a successful pre-season and was instrumental in our draw against Crystal Palace. Will provide the creative spark for City and will whip in the crosses that strikers thrive on.

MK Dons Team News:

*As for MK Dons on the injury front, Kevin Gallen and Jude Sterling are believed to be out with injuries as well as Danny Swailes being 50:50.

Player to watch: *Keith Andrews

*Keith is MK’s captain and holds the creative spark in midfield for the Dons. He was recently transfer-listed but he has now been taken off the list and it will be interesting to see how he responds. But also keep an eye out for Sam Baldock, a young emerging striker and new signing Ali Gerba if he is given permission to play.

Match Facts & Stats

Leicester currently have 3 players who have previously played for MK Dons, winger Lloyd Dyer signed this summer from the Dons, as well as Loan goalkeeper Alvin Martin and Jonny Hayes both having loan stints there previously.

Really good preview FT, it all begins now! I’m with the 80-odd % that thinks we will win, but it won’t be easy like you point out. I think 3-1 City though.
