Darius Vassell and Andy King made their return to action in the friendly to raise money for Kettering Town.

A 370 strong crowd helped raise over £2000 for the Blue Square Bet club who will be putting the money to good use for an outstanding HMRC bill.

A statement from the club read.

‘Leicester City would like to extend its thanks to every supporter that travelled to the game, got behind the team, and donated generously to a local club in need.’

As for the match itself, it was a mixed XI, and Darius Vassell capped his return with a 39th minute penalty giving Leciester the lead.

Both Vassell and King played out almost an hour of the game, and neither seem to have any repercussions from the run out.
