Leicester City’s 28-year-old French striker Yann Kermorgant has finally signed his contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2012.

Kermorgant has made five starts, eight appearances in total for Pearson’s side so far this season, without finding the net just yet.

But the Frenchman is clearly held in high regard at the club, and has been hailed as the successor to Steve Howard, whose place in City’s squad will now come under question.

Manager Nigel Pearson is a clear admirer of the former Stade-Reims man, saying: ‘I’m sure the fans will see a lot more from him. We hold in him high regard at the club, so it’s a delight to prolong his involvement at the Walkers.’
