Peterborough’s on-loan Leicester left-back Tom Kennedy has admitted he would like to make his stay permanent at London Road.

Kennedy has been an ever-present under Darren Ferguson since his loan move to the club in January, and has revealed he wishes to remain at London Road past the end of the campaign.

“I’d definitely like to stay beyond the end of the season.

“It’s been a topsy-turvy season and I’m starting to find my feet here.

“Darren has a lot of faith in his players and even if you have a bad game he gives you plenty of confidence.

“It’s taken me a few games to adjust, but I’ve really started to show the fans what I can do.”

The 25-year-old was signed for the Foxes from Rochdale by Nigel Pearson last summer, but found himself down the pecking order under both Paulo Sousa and Sven-Goran Eriksson.

And Kennedy admits his spell at the Walkers Stadium has been difficult.

“I went to Leicester, but it didn’t work out and it wasn’t very enjoyable,” he conceded.

A permanent deal now looks likely in the best interests of all concerned, with Foxes chief Eriksson almost certainly looking to greater heights come next season.
