Young Leicester City striker Billy Kee has rejected the club’s offer of a professional contract with the club.

Kee, 18, has scored an incredible 44 goals in 42 games for Leicester’s youth side this season, and his form has attracted interest from a number of Football League clubs.

The player also broke onto the international scene this season, becoming Northern Ireland’s under-19 captain in the process. And it now appears that Exeter, Wycombe, Bradford, Millwall, Northampton and Bournemouth could all be hot on the trail of Kee after rejecting Leicester’s contract offer.

It appears that there may have been the opportunity for him to move on loan earlier this season, with Bournemouth the reported destination, but Leicester rejected the offer.

Kee: ‘I need to play first team football and I think that being a local lad coming through the academy doesn’t help you sometimes.’

It is thought that City offered the player a one-year contract with the view to a season long loan switch to a lower league club for first team football, but Kee now looks set to leave his hometown club for pastures new.
