Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has admitted that the dressing room was low as we slipped to defeat to Arsenal yesterday but he was confident the team wouldn’t let the third defeat of the year have any effect on ending the season strongly, as there were plenty of positives that could be taken from the two one loss and the performance that was put in by the players.

Speaking to in his own post game press interview, Schmeichel said it was all about perspective and focus and arguably had Danny Simpson not been sent off for a harsh yellow (and everybody can argue about what could’ve been red or a definitely yellow for both sides in the game) at 11 v 11 we were on for a point at least that would’ve been fair.

‘We have lost just three games this season so we are not going to get bogged down by this, just as we don`t get too ahead of ourselves when we win. It is a loss but we get on with it. We are a good team and had it been 11 versus 11 I think we would have gone on to get something, but it wasn`t to be. It is always frustrating when you concede in the last minute and when things go against you like they did today, it is disappointing but we have to just continue.’

With plenty of fine saves on the day coming from Schmeichel himself, he again talked of the disappointment at conceding a minute after allotted stoppage time as the referee I think stopped the watch again whilst he picked his nose, but the positive for him is against what is undoubtedly an extremely good Arsenal side, we more than matched them.

‘We are a good team. People were probably getting ahead of themselves this week from the outside but we keep going. It is not the end of the world. We have bounced back before; we have the character in the camp. We will move on and we will have the same attitude as we do when we win. We just focus on us and we have as good a chance as anyone to have a very good season.’
