New Leicester loan capture Diomansy Kamara has slammed Fulham boss Mark Hughes for his lack of opportunities at Craven Cottage this season.

Kamara has featured just nine times in the Premier League for the Cottagers, but insists his abilities do not match his regular bench-warming this term.

“The gaffer tried not to play me because I was at the end of my contract,” he said. “It’s good for me to be here. At Fulham I was the second best goalscorer when I left, but the manager did not want to play me. It was his choice.”

The striker has revealed his delight at his switch to the Walkers Stadium to help City’s play-off bid, drawing particular attention to working under Sven-Goran Eriksson.

“I’m so happy to be here. It is a massive club with a good manager. When he called me I was so pleased,” he said. “He called me 10 days ago. I am also a friend of Yak and I thought ‘why not, it is a good challenge’.

“I think I can do something for this club. I have to play good football and score goals now that I am here.”

Eriksson himself was also pleased with the move, claiming the former Portsmouth striker will provide welcome competition up front for the Foxes.

“Diomansy is a quality striker and will be a great addition to our team,’ the Swede said.

“He brings with him pace, good technical ability and Premier League quality. I am sure he will settle in well and be an exciting player for the club.”

Well what an interesting comment from a player who had several years of opportunities under several managers and 2 teams to prove himself in the english premiership. even at celtic he services were eventually not needed. he scored some very important goals in fulhams survival but was not consistent enough. Personally im sad to see him go and im guesing come the summer bye bye, but joe kamara is a very good championship player, and thats all, ask west brom!

He should do a job for you guys.. He might find it hard to get used to the pace of the championship… I think he’ll do well though..
