It was being reported over the weekend that manager Claudio Ranieri had a heavy interest in bringing Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina to Leicester this summer.

The Guardian were one of many to report that we had in fact already made an offer of £10million for the 22 year old based on his performances in his debut season for the Serie A winners in 2015/16.

Juventus had loaned the youngster in from Olympique Marseille and they held a reported 9.5million Euro buy clause on that loan which they enacted back in May to take him on permanently, but it’s suggested that Juventus will be content with the quick profit and if the right offer comes in for the man who made ten league appearances for them, scoring twice, they will wave him goodbye.

The same reports suggest that Nice’s Nampalys Mendy remains Ranieri’s first choice, but with the possibility of N’Golo Kante departing and Lemina being somewhat of a player for the future, he would be happy to add him to our ranks as well.

Especially with the added schedule the Champions League will bring in 2016/17.
