Leicester go into the fixture against Stoke in a little over one hours time knowing that victory is a must to assure them of Championship survival!

Stoke are chasing an automatic promotion pace, with then knowing a point will secure this, but all three could secure the Title if West Brom fail to win they will be going all out to secure their place in the Premier League next season without the need of the play-offs, so the ask for the Foxes maybe couldn’t have been harder.

Ian Holloway knows that his side must win, that will eliminate any risk of relegation. One would expect that his job is on the line either way, but should they be relegated to League One he will almost certainly be shown the door.

If Southampton, who currently occupy the final relegation spot, fail to gain anything from play-off chasing Sheffield United whatever the Foxes, Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry or Blackpool (with one from this bunch still able to be relegated) do it will become immaterial as Southampton will go down regardless.

Will Holloway’s men be able to get the win (or whatever result they might need) they need to guarantee safety, or will they be dropping into League One by 4pm today?

  • For all that Milan Mandric did for us at Pompey, we really hope you stay up. Ideally Southampton will get relegated. If I could pick a result it would be Sheffield Utd winning. Everything crossed.

  • Oh well. You’ll be favourites for the Johnstone Paint Trophy which will result in a nice day out at Wembley for you.

  • Hard Luck fellas .. sorry to see you go down especailly as it meant Sceummers staying up… I hope Mandaric and Holloway stay together and get you back up next season..

  • know how you feel but to be honnest is was the game against the snortbeasts (sheff wendy) that did you – you should have easilly won that game especially at home – get that dick head of a manager sacked he has to be the worst ever.
