It seems increasingly likely that Joey Gudjonsson’s days at the Walkers are numbered.
Sky Sports website reveals today that the Icelandic International midfielder is ‘close to agreeing terms’ with AZ Alkmaar.

Gudjonsson was previously quoted as saying he wouldn’t mind a move back to Holland where he has previously made a good impression.

Being out of contract in the summer, Gudjonsson, a major success at City this season, is free to talk to interested parties and if he is going to move then Leicester might just as well get as much as they can for him unless he just agrees a pre-contract arrangement.

Gudjonsson, formerly of Aston Villa, Real Betis (where he cost £2.5m) and Wolves, thought to have attracted the interest of English clubs as well.

Craig Levein has already hinted that in the event of someone leaving he has replacements lined up but, in any case, with Wesolowski and Hughes returning to fitness, Kisnorbo apparently highly regarded and Williams regaining his appetite, Levein would always have midfield options in any case. There is even Tiatto on the fringe.
