Leicester City have confirmed the signing of 27 year old former Everton striker Jermaine Beckford.

The player joins on a four year contract and whilst the official fee is ‘undisclosed’ it is believed to be in the region of £4 million.

Beckford in reality didn’t really hit it off in the Premiership, although most of that was probably down to the additional hype he received whilst at Leeds, but 10 goals in 38 games is a record a number of Premiership strikers would relish.

His time at Leeds speaks for itself to be honest, and he should be a welcome addition to the squad once he finds his feet.

It’s possible that Beckford will make his Leicester debut against Brighton on September 17.
